Tom Steer

Our Financial Director with a background in biochemistry and an instant recall of obscure trivia.

Tom studied Biochemistry at Oxford and heads up our legal and financial teams.

He has been here since the very start and is driven to come back every day “because it’s full of incredibly smart, creative people who have each other’s backs” and because he enjoys seeing Softwire culture evolve with new influences from each new group of joiners.

Tom has been known to make the occasional cameo in the annual Softwire pantomime, but is happy that his repeated casting as Darth Vader is just coincidence. He also writes and comperes our annual charity quiz night.

In his spare time, Tom plays bridge, board games and the occasional game of rugby.  He is at his happiest sailing off the west coast of Scotland with his two children.
